Mounting and installation is the work we do most: TVs, shelves, blinds, curtain rods, mirrors, and artwork. Around Boston, the anchoring is the whole trade. Anyone can drive a screw; the job is knowing what's behind the wall before you do it.

Homes built before 1950 have plaster and lath walls that crack around cheap anchors, and downtown condos have concrete walls that need a hammer drill and building paperwork. We bring hardware matched to your wall, mark every position and check it with you before drilling, and patch any misfired holes before we leave. It's the kind of prep step a stud finder from a big-box store confidently gets wrong on plaster, every time.

TV mounting is a flat rate from $99. The rest is $100 per hour with a one-hour minimum, and there is no trip fee in our service area.

We also assemble the IKEA and flat-pack furniture that nobody wants to spend a Sunday fighting, often on the same visit as a mount.

TV Mounting

Any size TV on plaster, drywall, brick, or condo concrete. We bolt the mount into studs, hide cables where the wall allows, and send Certificate of Insurance paperwork to buildings that require it before the visit — a step Seaport and downtown condo boards ask for routinely, and we don't wait for you to find that out the hard way. Fixed, tilting, and full-motion mounts, plus soundbars underneath. Flat rate from $99. Here is what makes TV mounting in Boston different from the version in the manual.

Shelf Installation

Floating shelves, bracket shelves, and closet systems. Stud finders misread plaster and lath, so we locate framing with a magnet sweep and pilot holes, then lag heavy shelves into at least two studs. Everything gets leveled with a laser and checked against your trim, because old walls are never quite straight — a shelf can be perfectly level and still look crooked next to a doorframe that isn't. Blinds & Shades Installation

Victorian and triple-decker window openings are usually out of square, so we measure each one at three points and size to the narrowest. Inside mount when the frame has the depth for it, outside mount when it does not, shims when the opening is racked — a lot of these windows aren't so much rectangles as suggestions. Measuring and mounting are both covered. See how we handle blinds and shades installation on old windows.

Curtain Rod Installation

Bay windows in brownstones, wide spans that need a center support, heavy blackout drapes that have to hang off studs and not bare plaster. We set bracket heights with a laser so every rod in the room matches — including the two that have been visibly mismatched since whoever hung the first one eyeballed it. The specifics are on our curtain rod installation page, bay windows included.
